Cindy Cox
Founder & CEO
Cindy has spent the last 20 years supporting, advocating, and working for those in the Self-Determination program as well as those in traditional services. She has a strong background in advocacy as a Family Resource Parent, providing information and parent-to-parent support as well as community outreach and education.
In addition to her advocacy, Cindy served as the Native American Liaison for Bishop Unified School district for more than 15 years. She provided a connection between the Bishop Paiute Tribe and the school district.
Cindy's extensive experience in advocacy and support for individuals in the Self-Determination program and traditional services, paired with her background as a Family Resource Parent and Native American Liaison, underscores her dedication to empowering individuals and bridging communities. Her role as an Independent Facilitator since 2001 demonstrates her commitment to helping Regional Center clients transition to Self-Determination, providing both Customized Employment Supports and employment navigation through her ACRE training and certification.
Cindy's role as a Professional Certified Independent Facilitator with Cal-IF and her degree in Educational Studies highlight her expertise in facilitating individualized support plans. Her approach, grounded in the belief that individual choice is essential to independent living, reflects her passion for helping clients of all abilities achieve their goals. Cindy's experience is further enriched by her personal perspective as a parent, with one of her three children being a Regional Center client, giving her a deep, empathetic understanding of the families she serves.

Kendra Arellano
Case Manager
Kendra Arellano is a dedicated and compassionate Case Manager at Community Integration Specialists, partnering with Regional Centers across California to support the Self-Determination Program. With two years of experience, she empowers individuals to achieve greater independence by delivering tailored, client-centered services. Kendra excels in person-centered planning, advocacy, and clear, empathetic communication, which she brings to every client relationship. Known for her calm and warm approach, she prioritizes understanding and respect, helping clients feel supported and confident as they work toward their personal goals.
Kendra is a certified independent facilitator and is currently pursuing a degree in Social Work to further her expertise. Outside of her professional role, she loves spending quality time with her two young children and enjoys outdoor activities like biking, hiking, and nature walks. Passionate about yoga, Kendra also teaches yoga in her community, sharing the benefits of mindfulness and movement with others.

Romina joined the Community Integration Specialists team in August 2021 and has proven to be an invaluable asset to our mission. Her unwavering dedication and commitment to the team's success sets her apart. Romina possesses an enterprising spirit and a boundless willingness to learn, which has been instrumental in our progress. In her role, Romina excels at providing vital support in client case management and plan development. Additionally, she has embraced the role of a bilingual facilitator, bridging the gap and providing crucial assistance to the Spanish-speaking community. What's truly remarkable is her ability to quickly grasp and master the intricacies of the Self-Determination Program, showcasing her ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced environment. One of Romina's most remarkable qualities is her boundless patience when interacting with our clients and their families. Her ability to empathize, communicate, and provide support has a profound impact on our clients. She is a testament to the power of empathy and genuine care in our mission to improve the lives of those we serve
